I want to be like Larry David...

Larry David, is a comedy genius. He is the co-creator of the America's most popular sitcom Seinfeld (1989-1998). The Seinfeld character of George Costanza, played brilliantly by Jason Alexander, was basically based on Larry David. The similarities between the prototype and the character can be apparent in his HBO series Curb your Enthusiasm (2000-). The dialogue in the show is almost entirely improvised. Larry David dreams up the ideas and he only knows the plot, which generally centers on him getting in trouble for saying whatever comes to mind. Larry deals with akward social situations that we all more or less deal with in our lives. He is very much in tune with our own deepest, darkest, most embarrassing thoughts, the difference is he shares his thoughts with the world, while we don't. So watching Curb your Enthusiasm, can not only be funny, but liberating and didactic, too. Although he doesn't seek your approval, you'll give it to him enthusiastically, and you'll find that you agree with most of the things he says. You would like to be like him. A bit, eh?
